If the children in your care are currently part of an open DSS case, DSS has Kinship Care Coordinators in each reach to help answer questions, find resources and advocate for you and the children in your care.
Coordinators also currently act as liaisons for Kinship Foster Licensing. If you’re a licensed kinship caregiver providing formal kinship care with SCDSS involvement, you can receive monthly board payments. This money must be used to pay for expenses that come with taking care of the child in kinship care.
